As well as numerous animal species Daan Viljoen Game Reserve has over 200 species of birds and so is also popular as a birding destination.
While there are numerous wildlife species there are no large predators resident inside Daan Viljoen Game Reserve making this wildlife reserve the perfect location for visitors to Namibia to enjoy walks in the African bush. The lack of large predators also means that there is an abundance of other wildlife to be enjoyed in the nature reserve.
Guests of Daan Viljoen Lodge and Campsites as well as day visitors are free to enjoy the well marked walking trails throughout the Daan Viljoen nature reserve at their leisure. There are 2 well-marked hiking trails to explore inside Daane Viljoen Game Reserve.
Guided Game Drives are also available in Daan Viljoen Game Reserve, or visitors can enjoy a game drive in their own vehicle.
