Sesriem Camp NWR inside Sossusvlei Namibia

Welcome to NWR Sesriem Camp Site

Located perfectly at the entry to Sossusvlei just inside the park gate is Sesriem Camp Site. Sesriem Camp is run by Namibia Wildlife Resorts and is just a short drive from Sesriem Canyon and right beside the gate to Sossusvlei and the Namib Desert.

Facilities and Accommodation at Sesriem Camp

Please note that there are no rooms available at Sesriem Rest Camp, you must bring all your own camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag and cooking equipment). For room accommodation inside the park at Sesriem check out Sossus Dune Lodge or Dead Valley Lodge.

Sesriem Rest Camp is perfect for campers who want to experience the beauty of the Namib Desert. On the day you arrive watch the sun setting over the Elim dune, then watch the stars emerging until they fill the sky above you and listen to the clicking of the desert barking Geckos and distant howl of the Jackal as you sit by the fire and imagine whatever you will.

After a good nights rest rise early (one hour before sunrise) for a drive into the dunes at Sossusvlei where you can climb a Dune 45 and watch the colours change as the sun rises over the horizon, slipping its morning warmth over the Namib desert dunes.

Sesriem Camp is one of only two Sesriem camping sites available inside the gates of the Namib Naukluft Park at Sossusvlei giving it unique early access to the Sossusvlei dunes and the Namib Desert in the mornings.

The exterior gate into Sossusvlei and the Namib Naukluft Park opens at sunrise, one hour after the Sesriem camping site gate into Sossuvlei. The earlier opening of the Sesriem Camp gate gives campers at Sesriem camping sites the opportunity to be deep into the desert in time to watch the sunrise.

Please note when booking that the Namib Naukluft Campsite is NOT in the same location as Sossusvlei, it is situated in a completely different section of the Namib Naukluft Park and and has no access to the dunes at Sossusvlei.
